Informacja o czerwonej gwieździe na pomniku w Łyntupach jest nieaktualna. Ksiądz od św. Andrzeja zmienił gwiazdę na krzyż. W Łyntupskim kościele umieszczona jest tablica w języku polskim z nazwiskami pomordowanych.
Na zbiorowej mogile w pomordowanych Polaków stoi betonowy pomnik. Na inskrypcji widnieje nadal propaganda bolszewickich agresorów: „Pochowani tu są obywatele radzieccy bestialsko zamęczeni przez niemiecko-faszystowskich agresorów”. Nazwiska podano w wersji rosyjskiej.

W Giruciach nigdy nie było takiego pomnika.
20 maja 1942 roku Niemcy i Litwini zamordowali Polaków w Nowych Święcianach, Święcianach, Hoduciszkach, Łyntupach. Mieszkańców spędzono z okolicznych wiosek. Pomordowani mieszkańcy z Giruć spoczywają w zbiorowej mogile w Łuntupach. Tam też na ich mogile znajduje się "pomnik z gwiazdą". W kościele parafialnym w Łyntupach znajduje się tablica z nazwiskami 150 zamordowanych. Znajduje się tam nazwisko mojego dziadka po kądzieli Justyna Klipa.
