Прочла, что кто-то ищет связь фамилии Боркунов с деревней Боркуны Витебской области. я из Боркунов. Могу уверенно сказать, что такой связи нет. Людей с такой фамилией в деревне никогда не было. А ее название произошло от названия растения в обилии произрастающего в окрестностях нашей деревни, это - боркун, а по-русски донник, очень хороший медонос. reply
О как! Новое слово в топонимике :) А не скажете, сколько лет деревне? А за какой период у Вас есть документальные данные по жителям? В принципе, я не отрицаю некую вероятность "ботанической" природы названия, но на практике такие небольшие деревушки чаще всего получали названия именно по фамилии/имени/прозвищу населяющего рода или хозяина земельного надела. reply
